6 C’s to Provide Your Employees

Teamwork at Hypefest

Business is the biggest team sport ever.

When Eddie Jones, head coach of our England Rugby team, takes the team to the World Cup in France, he could have the most innovative new, devilish tactics to overcome the opposition, but without the buy-in, the engagement and the cohesion of his players he knows we won’t get very far.

The same applies at work.

In companies, just like in sport, it is of course vital that we have great tactics or strategy, it’s also important we have the right formation or structure, we certainly need great leadership, but above all we need to know how to get the best out of our players, or people. Your people are your best asset.

Leaders need to have a people first mindset.

We’re in the business of helping fast growing companies engage their people, and we’re lucky enough to work with and learn from some great businesses that have people first mindsets.

It doesn’t need to be over complicated. Here are 6 C’s that Strive believe all employers can provide to help get the best out of their people.

1. CHOICE

Allowing a degree of choice over your working conditions, your methods and your location of work, can enable a far greater degree of buy-in from employees.

2. CONTROL

Give people control over their time at work if you can. I read a great quote recently; “doing something you love on a schedule you can’t control can feel the same as doing something you hate.”

3. COACHING

Some form of coaching or personal development is paramount to engaging, growing and retaining great people.

4. CONNECTION

Since the other C word that we prefer not to mention, many companies are missing the true connection between their people and it’s impacting them hard. Bring your people together, create an environment for real, meaningful connection. If you don’t know how or don’t have time for that, slide into our DMs.

5. COMMUNICATION

Decide the direction, communicate the direction. Effectively, without ambiguity.

6. CELEBRATION

Just like Eddie Jones’ team, after a hard match or a well deserved win, getting together to have a few beers and celebrate your hard work is one of the most valuable things for your people.
Strive create employee engagement experiences (in real life only!) Our method is to combine opportunities for Connection, Communication and Celebration into blockbuster employee kick offs, retreats, and summits. Get in touch if you’d like to work with us: hello@strive-agency.co.uk
