A company party to celebrate 20 years of the global restaurant group Azumi

“An extraordinary party for an extraordinary company”

Sometimes our events are so good they feel totally out of this world, but this one truly was. In fact – we created a whole new world altogether for an employee celebration like no other.

600 people came together for this 20th anniversary party, and entered into a dystopian, futuristic, sci-fi world.

Azumi Zutopia - Strive Employee Experiences

Our client wanted this party to be a celebration of the future, and what they will achieve in the next 20 years, so we created the vision of ZUTOPIA. Our aim was to take the guests into the future combining icon elements of films like the Matrix, Blade Runner….

At Strive we understood the importance of creating the party of the decade for our client, and how to make sure their employees had a night to like none other.

Everything about this event was immersive, intense, theatrical, surprising, shocking. We aimed to create a sense of uncertainty from reality.

From the on-stage entertainment acts, to roaming actors and dancers in amongst the guests, to the projections plastered onto the brick walls creating each different world, to lighting, lasers, sound, UV hang poles, LED trays serving food, dry ice crawling along the bars.

The night was flooded with WOW moments, with guests not knowing what the night was going to throw at them next.

Strive loved this project because we could truly put our creative hats on and push boundaries of what we can produce. We loved creating moments that haven’t been seen before by so many in the room. We loved that this company wanted to just give their people their best night of their lives. We love that this company wanted to celebrate the future of what they can all achieve together.

Highlights

A custom made neon ‘Welcome to Zutopia’ sign greeted guests on arrival.
Matrix style coding wrapped around all the walls of the entrance area.
We gave guests the choice on arrival of a red or blue pill, to see where the night could take them.
They then entered kaleidoscope LED time tunnel, made from bespoke projections and LED lighting.
The guest costumes were some of the best we’ve ever seen, and really made the event come to life.
Our very own costume designer made extra wow factor professional costumes for all the management team who took to stage to give thanks for the hard work and give out some amazing prizes.
Flashmob style and right on cue, the ‘registration wristbands’ all lit up as confetti canons blasted above the crowd, and some very lucky winners had their wrist turn a new colour and they won a selection of holidays and other amazing prizes.
An entertainment troupe then took over the stage consisting of sci fi warrior girls, a quirky neon burlesque show, and LED break dancers to headline.
And a giant 8ft metallic robot… because why not!

For all the Strive team, this was an epic event, a highlight for our project managers, a moment that set the tone of what we can create when we put our minds to it. We are truly a small but mighty and unstoppable team.
